That is the same way we take control of our NT server and our clients as
well, PC Anywhere. I thought we were through with PCA, we used to use it
for remote access to the AS400 under DOS to emulate a 5250 session to the
AS400. After we went to an IP config to access our AS400, we are back to
PCA to access the NT server to remotely administer it. I guess some things
don't ever change.

Subject: Re: SAP on NT

|You are right: If you run SAP on NT this server or these servers are ONLY
|for SAP.
|We visited a SAP/NT site last week. The discussion came to _remote
|administration of NT_.
|There are some things in NT and ORACLE that can only be done on the system
|console. I
|asked the admin if he walks every time to the NT monitor to do his work.
|Anser: No, we use
|PCanywhere. (This alone is a curious thing!) Question: Are you allowed to
|use this product
|on the SAP server? Answer: Yes, PCanywhere is SAP certified!!!
|
|This is the point: every little piece of software that you'd like to
|install on any SAP server must
|be SAP certified! Incredible! If you are the opinion that the NT editors
|are not worth their money
|you have to ask SAP whether there is another SAP certified editor! And so
|with any other
|product.
|
|But we all know: things are getting easier in the data processing business
|- especially with NT!

|If you want another app that is on NT you will most likely have to buy
|another server anyway.
