John You are quite correct - I did not intend to send that note to the list but just to Jon Paris, whom as an IBMer, I assumed would know about a very famous former IBM employee (or was it consultant?) - I goofed! In a subsequent response to the list (Re: its not just the box dummy - its just a house of cards) to an original post by Scott Cornell (Computerworld Article - it's not just the box dummy), I did explain who von Neumann was. I myself have not read The Computer and the Brain although I have heard others mention it. Perhaps I should seek it out. Thanks for pointing out the error of my ways.
