I treat mine as ascii text files and it handles the conversion fine.  I am
using netsoft instead of CA but that shoulndt make a difference.  I treat
them as
flat files on the 400 (600)  and define the fields in the program that
reads them..  Ony caveat--it wont handle packed fields, but an ascii text
shouldnt have any anyhow.---This might be referred to as a "geezer" method,
 but it works.
