It's not gone (PL/I) it's just not an LPP anymore. If you want it you
can ask IBM for it and they will be more than happy to provide it to you
(for a price). By taking it off the LPP list all IBM did was remove
their requirement to translate the documentation in to the 39 (or so)
different national languages. It's only available in English now.

subset
implementation of the best language out there....).  ...ditto for
BASIC...
