Tell your bosses this. Microsoft uses AS/400's to run their line of business applications. I believe that Apple does, I know they used S/38's. The AS/400 is more of an open system than Unix platforms. The AS/400 supports all of the POSIX standards while none of the Unix platforms do. Do these systems have as many 64bit applications as the AS/400 does?
