Gary, Random thoughts: Most important is to check the "PSP buckets" when you start your planning and again right before the upgrade. There is a CUM CD with a problem (C8132420), make sure that you get its replacement (C8140420). There are also a few Lic PTFs that you need prior to going to V4R1, and then to V4R2. There should be a CD that states preupgrade PTFs, make sure you install these. There is a nice new upgrade facility that you load with these preinstall PTFs (requires an IPL, so plan for that), that automates the check for LPP that you have on your machine, and against those on the CDs. We always tell people to run a RCLSTG before their upgrade, and one of our customers didnt run one last week, and when they went to upgrade their Database Cross reference files (The QADB* Files in QSYS) were corrupt. The upgrade failed, and they had to run a RCLSTG and then perform the upgrade again. Which made the upgrade much longer than expected.
