Tim,
  While all of the things you want to do can be done, I suggest: (In a
batch CLP)
  RUNRMTCMD to run whatever you want on the target machine.
    (Including a cpyf as needed.)
  Back on the source machine either:
    CRTDDMF and CPYF the file across (MUCH quicker than SNADS)
    -or-
    FTP the file back. (also MUCH quicker than SNADS)
  With this method you can run entirely in batch on the source and
target machines.
