  • Subject: Setting up POP3/SMTP on AS/400

I'm trying to correctly setup SMTP mail and our AS/400, and although I've followed all literature (IBM Manuals, Redbooks, and a few others) I've read, any mail I send between local users never seems to reach its destination, or even the distribution queue.  Using OfficeVision and checking outgoing mail, the messages show up as being sent, but are never marked as delivered, nor are any errors sent back. An *ORG status entry for the message can be seen when I use DSPDSTLOG, but the QSMTPQ distribution queue never recieves the message. If I try to delete a System Distribution Directory to which a message has been sent, I get a screen saying that a distribution has been sent to the Directory, and it cannot be deleted, but when the user associated with that directory tries to recieve any distributions, he still recieves a message saying that there 0 distributions available.
