  • Subject: Re: How to Tell what version of OS/400 running under?

The ILE/C program I offered for getting the Feature code/software group also
returns the OS version, by using the software product api's to query the *BASE
OS level. This I feel is better than querying QCMD object (IIRC, QCMD on V3R1M5
was still tagged as V3R1M0)

Patrick Townsend has the source and object and has offered to make the *PGM
object available from his website (is this still correct Patrick ?)

Jon Paris has offered to port it to RPG (as an exercise he'd like to try) I'm
going to do a CL port this morning & post the source later today.

The output from the utility is;

Model 9402, Type 40S-2110, PRC Group P05, SN# zzy-xxxxx, OS is at V3R7M0.

(where SN# iwill be your AS/400 serial number...)
