Lost AS/400 Mod 50s Key

We have unfortunately lost one of our AS/400 (black box strange looking)
keys.  I am trying to find out how to get a replacement.  The one that
we lost is the one that had the tag on it with the numbers required to
order a replacement.  IBM has indicated that they think the  lock has to
be replaced in order to get new keys which would be a costly solution.
Before we go that route I wanted to see if any of you have experienced
this and if there was a different solution than replacing the lock.
