Extremely easy---that is compared to one's preconceptions of the whole thing. See ICF files. Remember, a modem looks just like another file to the AS/400. You open it, see if it opened, then write & read records. Now I ain't one who's seen a pile of shops...I've worked in 5. But I've rarely seen AS/400's used for communications. In fact, I've only written ONE app that writes A/P info to some bank out in la-la land. But after that experience, I walked away with the feeling that our favorite box is rarely used for more than 50% of what it's capable of. What a box!
