What you need is an SMTP client. AS/400 SNADS can act as a pseudo SMTP client (take that loosely please!) and interface with the AS/400 SMTP server. The AS/400 SMTP server can either connect directly to your ISP's SMTP server or to your "main" mail server that you run (say) on a LAN. You can use commands such as SNDDST to send files/messages etc through the SNADS/SMTP gateway to the Internet. You set up SMTP addresses through directory services - like SNADS addresses with some extra parms. This method works though I think it's a bit klugy and far more complicated than it needs to be. The company I work for markets full function SMTP/POP clients for more sophisticated uses (Internet EDI) but my guess is we'd blow your budget.
