printing way to many messages

We just installed V4R2 and now we get messages printing every time a user
shuts off his PC printer.  Usually the message says the printer was shut
off successfully, but takes two pages to say it it.

We've looked at system values  but can't see anything that seems to us to
be relevant.   Any one else had troubles like that?
