ThinkPad with M-Wave Modem -- MIDRANGE-L

I need to hookup a ThinkPad that comes with a M-Wave modem from
IBM to a 400... Would like to use Personal Communication 4.2 and
dial into a autosync modem on the 400...

1. Anybody done this ???
2. What autosync modem did you use ???
3. How did you config the ThinkPad on the 400 ???
4. I have used PC 4.1 in a local environment but never
   in a dial environment... is it really any different ????
5. How stable at lower speeds 19.2 -- 38.8 ???

This customer wants to lug this thing around with him,, so I'm
a little concerned about a good stable connection......
