I was involved with a project that used scales in a shipping department process. The key there was using the indicator (right term? been a while), which had an RS-232 output, with the serial port on a PC. We were running a VB app on the PC, which was connected to the 400. The VB app read and wrote records to the 400, including order and customer information. Another option is what is called a keyboard wedge, which can be directly connected to a 400 dumb terminal. I don't know more about this, but believe it's fairly straightforward. Again, the output of the electronic indicator would be available to the application. As far as info on scales, check your Yellow Pages. They'll be under scales and/or bar code equipment, etc. Feel free to contact me if you want. Can't promise much more, but maybe my memory can be tweaked.
