It is to your advantage in my opinion to use TCP/IP for AS/400 connectivity.
First you need to setup TCP/IP on your AS/400.  I don't know exactly where
the instructions for doing this are located.  Basically, you have to setup
your ethernet line on the /400 for TCP/IP.  Then you can setup the TCP/IP
parameters using "go tcpadm".  After you have assigned an IP address to the
/400 and have setup your ethernet line for TCP/IP, you will have to start
TCP/IP, "strtcp", and the TCP/IP servers that you want to run, "strhostsvr".
Of course you will need to setup the PC for TCP/IP also.
