Beats a panic call at 4am :-) It also worked on the QSYSMSG message queue, which I believe the OS says, "If you build it I will come" . It was something we wrote under V2R3 for UPS monitor which required a CHGSYSVAL to QUPSMSGQ , but I have not revisited it since but there were a bunch of CPIxxxx messages that you could monitor for and could program response to. We chose the option to forward the message and require a dialup response. The technique (I'm sure) has been expanded and may still suit your needs.
