Hello Art, Others have supplied alternative mechanisms, Carl Galgano's particular suggestions had merit. However, your specific question was how to handle the RNQ1218 inquiry message. You can do this with the system reply list. Add a reply list entry for RNQ1218 (ADDRPYLE) specifying the reply you require. Then change the transfer job to use the system reply list to handle the message -- CHGJOB INQMSGRPY(*SYSRPYL). Any inquiry message received by this job will cause the system reply list to be searched for a reply. If no reply is found then normal inquiry message handling occurs for that message. Note that this technique can be used to programmatically handle any predefined inquiry message.
