I don't think you will be able to do this with the ECS modem. Your ECS
modem is a synchronous modem, and the ISP will most likely be using an
asynchronous modem.

Some of the ECS modems allow you to switch between sync and async, but
AFAIK it is a manual procedure.

You may want to look into purchasing a cheap ($100 - $150) PC modem and
attach it to your system if you have a free V.24 comm port. This can
then be configured to do what you want. In fact, you could even share
the phone line. I have Fax/400 (outbound only), ECS (outbound only) and
a USRobotics 33.6 (inbound only) connected to the same phone line with
no problems.
