Folks:

Here is the latest on my saga in getting CODE/400 to do its thing.

I have gotten the CODE/400 editor working.  I have gotten the CODE debugger working.   I am still figuring out the rest.  The tutorial asks you to copy the lab exercises from QADTS (which does not exist), and IBM just told me it should be QPDA (not there).  You need a whole bunch of PTFs.  Make sure to have the following PTF's for V3R2.

SF42864
SF46950 (for TCP/IP Win boxes only)
PTF-SF46857 and
PTF-SF46849 (if you have CODE installed)
PTF-SF46688 (if you have VARPG installed)
All these have child ptfs which are automatically supplied.

Start the TCP/IP daemon on the PC.  Then STRCODE & STRDBGSVR has to be done on the AS/400.

What I like:

1.  You can montor the variables on the debug.
2.  You can have the run to location and step over available.
3.  Lot more features than ILE STRDBG (I am still figuring them out).
4.  The editor has the precompile verify which saves oodles of time.  Slick, gives you most of the compile time errors.
5.  Seems like a very good product which can grow on you.

What I dislike:

1.  Startup is pretty clunky.  You have to startup on AS/400 and the PC and they have to be in certain order.
2.  Still unclear of how the project works compared to visual studio.
3.  Support is spotty if you do not have support line.
4.  FAQ is very limited on the site.
5.  You order 5763-CL3 for V3R2 and you get many products which donot have CL3 anywhere.
6.  Slow in building the member/object list.  But this is processor dependent and I should not complain.
6.  $1,150 for a seat license.

Thank You.
