Is there such thing as a non-destructive >02/D IPL? All devices capable of holding media with saved SLIC on it are alternate IPL devices now, as the system scans each one in turn until it either finds one that has SLIC or checks all of them and gives up (with an annoying SRC on the front panel, of course). And yes, I've tested it. Release upgrades are also non-destructive D IPL's - there's nothing like discovering that the CD that you THOUGHT had the SLIC on it really doesn't, that it's another one. Watching each tape drive click and whir in turn while waiting to get the SRC so that you can start again is almost as exciting as watching wood rot...
