[SMTP:dcsoft@ziplink.net] Sent: Monday, March 23, 1998 9:15 PM To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com Subject: Sending AS/400 objects via PC, email, etc. Some time ago, a friend of mine at IBM told me how to save objects from the /400 down to the PC. This used the CPYTOSAVF and CPYFRMSAVF commands from QUSRTOOL. The process was to: 1. Save the objects to a save file. 2. Copy the save file to a physical file using CPYFRMSAVF. 3. Download the PF using PC Support. 4. Reverse the process at the other end. This has worked before, and I have even successfully distributed software via email attachment. But... Since IBM doesn't give away QUSRTOOLS any more, some people can't compile the utility. Does anyone know of another method to accomplish this task? Diskettes are just soooooo much cheaper than 3490 and DLT tape cartridges... Thanks.
