IBM Maintenance Withdrawal

Neil claims that:  IBM is withdrawing support for the following machine. 
Most of you don't even remember column splits on the 548.  I guess I'm
telling my age but I worked on all of those machines.  I remember when the
83 sorter came out everyone was happy because it was so fast.
