Yes, you can go to an F02.  But this means you have to move to the S36E.

If you went to any RISC based system at V3R7 (certain PTF level required),
V4R1, or a model 236 or 436 you could move your S/36 code natively.

It would not need to be recompiled (assuming you have all the source), and
it would run faster.
