Darlene: Others have explained the workings of EVAL and %TRIMx
quite well, so I won't try to improve on their explanations. We
do recognize
the need to easily right-adjust data in an EVAL statement. I
don't want to
make any promises at this stage of our development cycle,
however, a
right-adjusting EVAL statement is on my to-do list.

LOCATION will have the value ' Toronto, Ontario'.

                          EVAL LOCATION = %TRIMR(' Toronto,
Ontario ')

This doesn't work like it's supposed to. The result is
left-justified
(with the leading blank), not right-justified. Any ideas or
suggestions?
