How're ya doin'?  Haven't hollered at ya in awhile! :)

Your guess is wrong.  (That was fun! ;)

Seriously, when we put in our RISC box, we found most of our MAPICS files
had 65535.  When we called MAPICS about it, theirs all had 37!  We
determined (after pestering IBM from both sides) that the reason ours had
65535 was because of the particular way that we had upgraded our system from
V2R2 through V2R3 and V3R1 to V3R6.  They suggested that we write a CL
program to do a DSPFD to an outfile (I forget which format, but one that
includes CCSID in the output), then read the outfile and do a CHGPF to CCSID
37.  It worked like a charm.  Try it.
