Triggers were not invented on the AS/400.  They existed elsewhere in other
databases (but don't asked me where).  They were added to the AS/400 in
V3R1, when DB2/400 was significantly upgraded to be the most compliant of
any of the DB2 databases to the DB2 standards.

In V3R1, PTF's help a lot with the functionality.  BTW, the minimum release
that ANYONE should be running now-a-days is V3R2 or V3R7.  I'm at V4R2.
