We tried this (on V3R2) and failed. Information was not easy to get, and
the word leaked back from the support structure that they thought we were
either stupid or inexperienced AS/400 users. (I guess that they could be
correct...) I personally did not do the work, so I don't know about
redbooks, but we certainly use whatever resources are available. We will
reattempt this natively (which seems like a better implementation from what
I can determine) when V4R2 is available using Domino 4.6.

The native implementation permits up to 16 concurrent Domino Servers to be
running simultaneously, and they can be set up in 'clustered' pairs (16 max
means a max of 8 clustered pairs). The concept of 'clustered pairs' is
basic the equivalent of Domino Server mirroring.

Each Domino Server sits in it's own subsystem, and there is apparently one
controlling job in each subsystem to determine if the Server (any job in
the subsystem) has failed for any reason. In the event of a Server
failure, the controlling job restarts the subsystem automatically.

>From what I've read, seen and heard, Native Domino Serving will make the
AS/400 the most scalable Domino Server in the world. The Domino design
seems to be a very good fit to the AS/400 subsystem work management design.
