Yeah - it was a typo.  I meant to say you would have 12GB available with
the 4 x 4 option (you also get off-road capability as a bonus).  :-)

        OK, I'll bite. If I have 4 4Gig drives I have 16Gig total. But
won't I have
        to eat one of those drives as overhead. Looks like you accounted
for it in
        the 8.5Gig drives, but not the 4Gig drives. Was this simply a

        Will this be a new AS/400 or are they looking to install on an
existing
        box ?
        What approx. disk capacity do they have (MB).
        With the new model 6xx and Sxx series you can RAID-5 the base
(Load
        source) disks, so you could install four 4GB or 8.5GB drives and
have
        16GB or 25.5GB usable disk with RAID-5.
        With older systems mirroring was often cheaper because you had
to mirror
        the load source drive.
