RAID/5 is usually cheaper from a "number of disk drives" point of view (you
lose 1/3 to 1/8 of your total disk space with RAID; 1/2 with Mirroring).
Mirroring may have an edge in performance over RAID in some configurations,
but your mileage may vary.

I would hate to run without either one or the other.
