RE: Ending job has priority 16!?!

Rudolf,
rather than raise the jobs priority in it's ending phase,
what you are most likely seeing is a job that had it's
priority raised while running.
The WRKJOB and WRKACTJOB only show the
priority assigned to the job.
WRKSYSACT shows what priority the job is actually
running under.
The system will often raise the priority of jobs because
of object locks. If a job at 50 gets a lock on an object
and a higher priority job goes into lock wait because
of it, the system will temporarily bump up the priority
of the 50 job to the level of the waiting job until the
lock is released.

"Work Management" covers this as does the Red Book
"AS/400 Performance Management" in section 3.14.3
