Is there a way >to avoid it? >Booth Martin --------------------------------------------------- Booth Hey whatever works for you Booth. (Like someone else said) Our shop has very defined Indicator usage standards. *IN01 thru *IN24 are only used for F01 thru F24. (function keys 1-24) So everyone knows if you see; *IN03 CASEQ *ON EXIT it means do until F03 is pressed. No mis-understandings. A rose is a rose. If we see *IN12 CASEQ *ON EXIT We know it means; if users presses F12, exit program. Even with with this brief exposure to our standards, If I say *IN04 I'd bet you would guess Function Key 4(F04 - prompt) was pressed. (BTW only F03 and F12 are defined as Command Attention keys CA03 and CA12 all rest are Command Function keys CFxx) D CA03(03 'Exit Program') D CF04(04 'Prompt') etc. On the flip side if I said that *INKA through *INKY are F01 through F24 you still couldn't tell me what function key *INKF was. That's my point. There again we have tried to think of and implement thorough shop standards. They may not be "right" Buuuuuuuuuut. They are dogmatically consistent. If we ever have to change to a "better" way, We could almost write a program to implement it. Not the best, but what I'm trying to say is; standards / standards / standards / standards / standards / standards. Thats my unofficial and un-impassionate opinion. <EOSB - end of soap box> John Carr CDP EdgeTech +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to "MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com". | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
