Anything other than custom-crafted special ftp client will have trouble
formatting the AS/400 directory output for a point and click interface,
at least into the /QSYS.LIB. The / portion of the IFS is a lot more like
the standard directories, and things do work properly.

A command line ftp client is much more usable for navigation into the
/QSYS.LIB area. This allows (and encourages) the entry of complete path
names, which means that most of hte time, you'll never have to even SEE a
directory listing.
