follow up to my previous post...I found this on the web. Question: Has anybody out there has come across the "SQL0104 - Token * not valid" message and manage to solve it. I've got this message when I tried to connect to DB2 database using Excel. I'm running out of ideas... Answer: Make sure that you have a relational database directory entry for your AS/400 on your AS/400. Do this by entering the command WRKRDBDIRE from an AS/400 command line. If you see an entry in the list with a remote location of *LOCAL, then this isn't the problem. If you don't see a *LOCAL entry, then you need to create one. Put a 1 in the first column and entry the name of your AS/400 in the second column. Press enter and then enter a remote location of *LOCAL. +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to "MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com". | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
