The data compression is nothing compared to PKZip.  PK usually does as   
good as 70% or more.  Although, still too slow.

Compression is already available on the 400 for save files. Have you
changed your SAVxxx commands to use DTACMP(*YES)? We now use this for our
default, and the save files are definitely smaller.

It should not be necessary to use PKZIP on the 400 for distribution. Why
pay for what you already have, in essence? But it might be a good thing   
for
working with PCs, although with IFS and things like WinZip, they become
redundant, IMO.
