Kirk,
since the firewall runs on the IPCS it shouldn't hit your 400 too badly.
But, more importantly I'd suggest that we can't comment on how well
it would work without requirements being better defined.
Yes it can protect your entire network, but will it do what you need
it to do ?
I don't know how fast a link the IPCS firewall can support ?
Also don't know how fast you may have or in the future need.
2000 desktops is quite a few, do or will they all have access ?
Will they use Pointcast, Video,  EDI or ....?
Do you have a T1 ? Will you need a T3 ?

One feature of firewalls that we make a great deal of use of
is tunnelling. IBM's product doesn't support tunnelling.
Missing this one feature alone means that we don't even
consider it a candidate for our needs.
