The first implementation was only for 512 byte support. This was twice the size of the Sys/34(which had 256 Bytes). There again I think the Sys/38 Macho-ism showed up(something like the "This is the Sys/38, and everything is Giant size here") It was a much later release that we got 1024 bytes.
