I believe it was Rel 3.0    Sys/34 users "Bitched" because they couldn't 
just "move" over their systems which relied on the LDA for inter-program 
communication.   The first implementation was only for 512 byte support.
This was twice the size of the Sys/34(which had 256 Bytes).
  
There again I think the Sys/38 Macho-ism showed up(something like the 
"This is the Sys/38, and everything is Giant size here")

It was a much later release that we got 1024 bytes.
