Rich: This issue was discussed pretty extensivly on the list about a month ago. I believe the consensous solution was to place a character in the last position of the file on the 400 so the file would always be the same length. I know that is more of a work around and not much of a solution. I suggest you put some sort of hex code in the last positon that has a corresponding ASCII character. Remember FTP will do EBCIDIC to ASCII conversion. Hope this helps. If this was not the best way to do it I'm sure you will hear about it here.
