  • Subject: FAXING Options

I have been asked to provide information on faxing options for our AS/400s.
We live a mixed environment of AS/400s, RS/6000s, VAXs, ALPHAs, SUNs,
copus amounts of PC based servers(NOVELL, NT and ?) and 1 Tandem. Most of
these can or do talk to the AS/400s. The requester is primarily concerned
with Faxing FROM the AS/400s, but once it does that EVERYONE will want send
and receive. I know there's a FAX card and SW for the AS/400's that will do
both sending and receiving of faxes, but does it handle someone, say user
that only uses MSOFFICE and has no signon to the AS/400s?

I know(think) a PC BASED fax server could do the job for almost everyone.

I would like any and all input(vendor's send to my private email address) on
solutions you have used, tried or heard of and approx. $$ to setup.

Thanks
