Booth: The best way to handle this problem is: 1. Uninstall Client Access on the Pentium. Reboot. 2. Reinstall Client Access. Reboot. 3. Install the latest service pack. Reboot. 4. Stop using @#$% NS router. 5. Use TCP/IP 6. To avoid Win95 OSR2 from doing Scandisk, use notepad to edit msdos.sys in the root directory and add a line at the end which says AUTOSCAN = 0 7. Remove check version from startup. 8. If it still does not work, remove all network connections to AS/400. Get a stable environment (startup & shutdown) and then add one connection at a time. 9. Also, you should run a defrag and scandisk with thorough option checked (overnight job). 10. After a hard shutdown, always boot to safe mode and then boot to normal mode. 11. If everything else fails, get rid of the pc and go with the AS/400 :-) HTH boothm@ibm.net wrote: > Has anyone had trouble getting their Win95 machines to shut down properly > after installing Client Access?
