I have found a very simple solution to this problem.  (These are the NT
directions but you should be able to translate to 95 easy enough). 
Create a printer definition in 95/NT using the Generic/Text print
driver, and the port to use is FILE:.  Then create a printer session
that attaches to the 400 and uses this Generic printer driver.  When you
send printout to it, it will pop up a small window asking for the file
name to create.  Piece of cake.
