Excerpts from midrange-l: 12-Nov-97 RE: Offload from the AS/400 Neil Palmer@NxTrend.com (1221*) > I thought the Firewall code was 'ported' from an existing product, > hence you could in a sense claim it was proven ? Hmmm... That could well be. All I know is that *I* failed miserably (and they caught my userid/node) when I tried some cheesy 'telnet to the sendmail port' hacks. And, of course, porting "proven" code sometimes just proves how lousy it was, eh? (This is particularly true when porting to our wonderful AS/400, where "an int is an int, a pointer is a pointer, and the two only meet for coffee twice a week." ...or "A pointer, by any other name, would smell like a function check.") Oh, well. I need some Java.
