Sorry for the previous incomplete message (keyboard snafu). I believe it is the maximum socket descriptor being checked plus one and is scoped to the activation group (for our code we only use one activation group within our job). For example if an application was going to check two sockets for a request the following logic could be used: Desc1 = socket(...); Desc2 = socket(...); SelectDesc = max(Desc1,Desc2) + 1; FD_ZERO(&ReadSet); FD_SET(Desc1,&ReadSet); FD_SET(Desc2,&ReadSet); select(SelectDesc,&ReadSet,NULL,NULL,NULL); Hope this helps, John Dorn I/NET, Inc.
