I am concerned that too many logicals cause the system to expend alot of
process to overhead issues in maintaining the *IMMED access.  This file
has about 25000 records and about 18 logicals currently.

No select/omits it will be the City/State/zip/2 digit record ranking/
about 40 positions long, the other one is just city/state, and was
created several years ago and is used in many programs.  Maybe I should
just change the original?
