Kenneth, Please tell me you aren't comparing OS/400 and Win95!!!! Anyway, I would never want the 400 to change my system time for me. Why? Simple, most (all) of my customers' job streams are not setup to allow for mid-run changes in time. The second record written WILL be written at a later point in time than the first record written seems like a reasonable assumption to me. You need a human with an understanding of the weekend job stream to say what time it is appropriate to change the system time. Also, some companies have legal requirements on when they can change the system time and must have the change witnessed, silly but true. -Walden PS. If you want to it would be easy enough to write a program that always ran, and on the 1st Sunday in April and the last Sunday in October change the system time. Just be sure you know what you are doing vis-a-vie your weekend processing. ------------------------------- Walden Leverich Tech Software walden@techsoftinc.com www.techsoftinc.com -----Original Message----- From: Kenneth E. It seems odd to me that with all the technology available on the AS/400 that we still have to "manually" reset the system clock twice a year to accommodate daylight and standard time changes... Does anyone know if IBM ever plans on including the ability to do this automatically in OS/400? Even my lowly Win/95 machine knows when daylight savings time changes occur.... :) Kenneth -- * *************************************** * Kenneth E.
