Should be no problem using tapes cut for your E10 to install on E04 (we are assuming this is a case where you have a license to install the code on the E04 - as when going from V2 to V3 - or a case where you don't need to pay IBM - as in going from V3R1 to V3R2). With B through F models (where we had the 9402/9404/9406 distinction that actually menat something) the only problem you would have is if you tried to install a 9406 with tapes from a 9402 or 9404, as they would not have some of the code needed for 9406.
