The PC receives faxes even when the AS/400 is down or in a restricted state. The big AS/400 advantage is the support. The AS/400 disadvantage is that it only supports sending one spool file at a time, and not less than one spooled file. If you want to send a subset of a spooled file you must somehow edit the spooled file. If you want to send multiple spooled files on one fax, you must aggregate them into one spooled file. Fax/400 is a good example of a product that IBM has that has great function,. but they don't properly market.
