Apparently the U. S. Government and the State of IL also can't agree on the
Date Format.

I received a spec from the Federal Government (by way of R. A. Harrington)
for New Hire W4 Magentic Media Reporting Requirements which stated the the
Hire Date
should be MMDDYYYY, then the next day, I received a spec for the same 
New Hire W4 Magnetic Media Reporting from the state of IL stating the Hire
Date
should be formated as YYYYMMDD.  Apparently you can file this Mag Media
with
either the Federal Government or the State (which will then report it to
the Fed.)

I guess you file it with who ever you agree has the correct date format?
