We haven't heard about any problems, but, like you, the 8 Gig drives mean
fewer arms.  We're staying with the 4 Gig drives during our upcoming
conversion.  One of the configuration parameters for our new box recommends
a minimum number of arms; the 8 Gig drives wouldn't have let us with enough
arms.
