Inform your customers of the discount that they will receive from the purchase of your new product, and of the premium they will pay for maintenance if they remain behind your current product release level (hey, it's good enough for IBM!). I assume that the product was written in Synon in order to reduce maintenance time, so customers NOT on the Synon version will have to pay a price. Try and back up your position with some hard numbers on the reduced maintenance times with Synon, and how much each individual client is going to pay vs. the last twelve months of service under the INCREASED rate schedule if they were to have the same service performed over the NEXT twelve months.
